WHAT IS STORY JAM?
The world of Future Now is forever evolving. With new planets, technology, characters, and stories being rapidly discovered throughout the universe. It might just be possible that your story is next.
Future Now Story Jam is an interactive role-playing experience within our universe! After taking our quiz and being assigned to a faction, you’ll get to create your own character that will have to react to, and survive, a series of world-shifting scenarios released straight from our writers room! Keep your goals focused and your allies close and your character might just win the Jam and make it into the web-series!

HOW IT WORKS
Story Jam is light role playing with a strong emphasis on storytelling. It’s designed for everyone, whether you’re new to writing or a pro. Collaborative by design, Story Jam provides resources to ignite your imagination and a community to explore character development. The concept is simple: you create a character using our sci-fi persona generator and then join us on the Story Jam livestream where our Dungeon Master (DM) presents the overarching story and challenges that your character must overcome. To make it through the obstacles your character will need to collaborate with other participants' characters. The sessions are designed with storytelling in mind so your character will naturally follow through a compelling arc that will feel like it writes itself!

THE FLUMPS: THE STORY SO FAR
THE STORY SETUP
The year is 2084: a new and dangerous disease is wreaking havoc in the solar system, spreading rapidly and leaving destruction in its wake. Scientists have referred to it as… The Flumphs. A funny name… but also a deadly foe. Not too much is known about the disease but we do know that it targets the muscles, lungs and heart; causing coughs, heart palpitations, muscle spasms and atrophying, and several other more severe symptoms including death. Scientists have reached a conclusion that the Flumphs is spread primarily through the water, but new information is insinuating that the deadly virus could also mutate to be spread through the air.
It has the potential to do as much damage as the Black Death of 1346, the Coronavirus pandemic of 2019, and the Cephalogorgonism outbreak of 2063 combined. The entire world is in chaos, scrambling to plan a solution before it becomes too late…
Here is where we find our heroes: spread all across the world and above it as well.
STATUS: MOON
On the Moon colony we find a ragtag group of outcasts suddenly thrust into close proximity. The Moon itself has been in complete lockdown for an indefinite period of time. Travel in or out of the lunar colony is strictly prohibited.
Salty Spears
It is in this scenario we find Salty Spears: a space pirate who has been the bane of asteroid belt miners across the solar system. Wanted by many corporations and individuals, Salty was finally caught and brought to the Moon to be processed before being shipped off to Earth. When he got there though, it suddenly shut down. The two marines who were guarding him suddenly began convulsing and dropped dead on the floor. With a concealed encryption messenger, he was able to send out a message: “I have a hidden stash of riches. Come rescue me and it’s yours.”
HOLLAND
This message reached many people, including Holland, a space vagabond with a checkered past stranded on the Moon. After her past as a pirate was revealed, she became an outcast. Looking to go back to Mars where she had lived before, she was suddenly locked in on the Moon. She decides to check out Salty’s position to take him up on the offer, but crash lands. When she gets out of the wreckage to his containment cell, she discovers that they have encountered each other years earlier… when Salty stole her bounty and kind of sort of ruined her life. She puts past encounters aside and agrees to help him… for the money, not because she cares about him.
They go to the nearest Lunar District to find a ship that can burst through the containment measures, but find that they are locked out. Both are now running out of oxygen and running out of options.
SPACE SHREDDER LEWY
The other figure floating around the Moon who got Salty’s message is Space Shredder Lewy: a popular modded hoverboarder and artist with a robot dog in tow to film all of his cool tricks. He is on the Moon helping out lower-income citizens combat the virus. He receives Salty’s message, but doesn’t go to see it because he looked into him and, well, Salty is not the most upstanding gentleman. Lewy has also been doing some deep research on the virus’ origins. While doing this he comes across a hacker whom he wants to form an alliance with.
ROBIN AKA @SWANG
Her name is Isabelle-Marie Robin River aka Robin aka @swang. A grey hat hacker-for-hire. While on a mission on the Moon, she finds herself in trouble as the Moon is suddenly locked down and the people she was hacking are closing in on her. Perhaps Robin and Lewy can help one another. And since Robin is also looking for a ship to get out of there, perhaps she could also align with Salty and Holland.
KEVIN MALACAR
An unexpected help for all of our heroes may come from a radical Paradisian currently working as a security guard on the Moon: Kevin Malacar. All of their paths are going to cross at any moment.
STATUS: EARTH
On Earth, every nation is in disarray with each one doling out different messages and a different level of lockdown. As people turn to the Fold more than ever to try and get information and simply live their lives, a bombshell drops. Magnus Gandyrmir, CEO of ODIN Corp and head of the vaccine development for the Flumphs, has been found dead. Everyone is trying to figure out what’s going on.
NAOMI
Naomi, an Off-Worlder, ironically, stuck on Earth.
MAYA DESAI
Maya, a meteorological researcher from Dubai using her connections at her company to get classified intel.
DR. EZNO FALCON
Dr. Ezno Falcon, a transhumanist surgeon who contracts the Flumphs and decides to become a test subject for radical treatments.
WAYLAND DAVIS
Wayland Davis, an activist living in the Western Alliance trying to balance helping his community with the conspiracy theories he believes to be discovering.
Others are in more privileged positions, but still affected.
ELOISE ROUSSELL
Eloise Roussell, a fashion godmother by day and Ecclesia member by night. Even as part of the elitist of the elite she still feels uncertain about what is going on.
EMERSON DIETRICH
More in the know is Emerson Dietrich, a wealthy psychologist who recently has been devoting his time to the Flumphs as a “Paradisian Philanthropist.” He is secretly a member of the Ecclesia and is one of a handful of people in the world who knows where the virus started. He is keeping this information close to his chest, understandably.
PRIME
This leads us to the mysterious figure named Prime. They are the most known unknown. Their real identity is not public, but their identity as one of the most powerful forces in the Dark-Fold precedes her. She is on the tail of where the Flumphs started and, powerful as she is, knows that some other people on the case could help. She has been monitoring those who have been doing in-depth research on the subject: Naomi, Maya, Emerson, Wayland, and Robin.
THE PLOT THICKENS
They each receive an encrypted message showing documentation mentioning a project called Einherjar, and an area on the Moon that is seemingly not on any map of the colonies. Also in this package: obituaries that name multiple ODIN scientists, almost all bioengineers or security detail, a few months before Flumphs became an epidemic. Later the notes mention something called Fenrir-01.20, the date for these notes is after the obituaries. The message is signed: “Had to bug out. Can’t send more till it’s safe. Good luck / Emerson you owe me -Prime”
The key to truly unlocking everything though might be in two figures completely out of Prime’s field of vision.
LLOYD
One is Lloyd, a troubled man with a cannon for an arm that has found himself in an overcrowded jail where everyone around him is dying of the Flumphs… yet he is mysteriously fine.
RYALL ERIK
The other is Ryall Erik: a data scientist whose estranged mother was once the lover of the now-deceased Magnus Gandyrmir. Though they are spread all across the world, our Earthlings will surely soon find each other soon enough in the virtual world of the Fold.
SESSION #003 - THE FINALE
Will the lunar fugitives make it out alive? Will anyone be able to decode Prime’s messages? How did the Flumphs start? And more importantly, can they be stopped. Tune in to find out in the stunning finale of the Future Now Story Jam.
