The Drone King

An Army Of Millions By Mistake

The Drone King is centered around a goofy slacker named Fox Mavour - employee 6942. He's a technician responsible for 1,200 mindless asteroid mining drones that are constantly breaking. In what little free time there is he modifies a few of the robots to keep him entertained. He dreams of leaving the asteroid and visiting Earth and watching a game of baseball at the fabled Dome In The Sky. But after a software update the drones he modified gained human-like feelings and desires which if spread would crash the entire quadrillion asteroid mining industry. Dossier of Fox Mavour

Fox Mavour is back. The man the Ecclesia thought died a decade ago has returned with the highest Relevancy score they have ever seen. Fox has reason to want vengeance against the Ecclesia and is one of the only people in the solar system who knows they exist. He could also be the key to saving billions of lives. Have your say

Do you think we will colonize planets outside of Earth? Do you think we could make living in space enjoyable? And do you think we’ll ever create machines that can think for selves and feel? And if so, should we? What do you think would happen if we did?

The Drone King is set within the asteroid mining region of our solar system, and through the story, you will see some of the specialized machines helping construct humanity's future in space. Some of the most relevant world connections include;

  • The Off-Worlders:  Fox Mavour is an Off-Worlder at heart, he longs for freedom to explore his passions and dreams, he is cynical of the system’s ability to benefit him, and he will pursue his goals despite the consequences for the company he works for and humanity’s future in the stars. • The Belt Mining Region: A complex supply chain has been constructed to harvest the vast amount of resources in the asteroid belt, process them, and transport them across the solar system. Drones outnumber humans 1,000 to 1 but humans are still needed on-site to manage the worker drones and repair them when they break down. It’s dangerous and lonely work, but it pays well. Learn more about the Belt Mining Region COMING SOON

  • Virt Mining: the gamification of the colonization of space, combining the fun visualization potential of games, the immersiveness of virtual reality with the industrial exploitation of off-earth resources.  Learn more about Virt Mining  COMING SOON

  • WOMB: Ever wondered where robots come from? Well, they’re evolved inside of WOMB. It’s the world's most sophisticated and secretive simulation system. Using their patented Slime, conductive  biocomputing fluid, WOMB is able to evolve AI and develop solutions to problems that would normally take humans millenia. Learn more about WOMB COMING SOON

  • RobAI Protocols: are strict laws governing the design and utilization of all robotics systems in the solar system. The rule most relevant to the Drone King is that machines are not allowed to program other machines. This and every other rule are designed to keep robots in our control and factor into every aspect of their design and manufacturing. Learn more about the RobAI Protocol COMING SOON

  • The Source: The underlying communication network and technology that much of the solar systems technology runs on and that powers the drones harvesting the Solar Systems resources. Learn more about The Source COMING SOON

  • Wang Corporation: One of the galaxy’s largest companies and a global leader in space mining. Founder and CEO Wang Qiang is a suspected member of the Ecclesia: the ruling elite who own 99% of the solar system.  The events of the Drone King could severely disrupt the Ecclesia’s interests and destabilize the system they rule over.  Learn more about the Wang Corporation  COMING SOON
